Zambia: Zambia Women’s National Team coach Bruce Mwape has named his 26-member provisional squad for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) second round back-to-back matches against Angola.
Mwape has a mix of local and foreign based players, with the former entering camp on Sunday, 19 November, to prepare for the first leg due on 29 November 2023 before hosting Angola on 5 December 2023.
Apart from Kazakhstan-based players whose league ended last month, the other foreign-based players will join camp when the FIFA women’s international window opens on 27 November 2023.
Zambia will be seeking a fourth consecutive appearance at the WAFCON and build on their highest-ever podium finish when they won bronze at the expense of Nigeria at the 2022 WAFCON held in Morocco.

Zambia plays Congo Brazzaville on Friday (tomorrow) in a Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier that kicks off at 18:00 hours (CAT).
