Zambia: Zambia Air Force (ZAF), Lusaka Base Station Commander, Col Oggy Samatemba, on Friday, 17 November, graced the ZAF Lusaka Junior Non-Commissioned Officers’ end of year party hosted at Lusaka Base banquet hall.
In his address to JRC members during the event, he said the ZAF was intensifying its air force presence in all ten (10) provinces of the country, which meant growth and modernization as well as the acquisition of air and air defence platforms.
Col. Samatemba urged service personnel to desist from gambling and other illicit activities as they do not represent the good discipline of military personnel.
He encouraged personnel to maintain a certain level of fitness as their duties demanded that they do so, thereby contributing to the health and development of the nation.
The Station Commander encouraged personnel to do regular exercises and observe good eating, drinking and smoking habits to reduce the chances of contracting communicable diseases.
He said Junior Non-Commissioned Officers are the bedrock on which the Zambia Air Force is anchored. It is for this reason that command holds them in high esteem. He encouraged them to continue being loyal, disciplined and dedicated to duty.
He noted and commended the Junior Ranks Club members for contributing their own resources to host the function, which was an Air Force tradition which encouraged personnel to meet and interact with each other and their families. He encouraged them to continue with the same spirit.
Col. Samatemba further thanked the Zambia Air Force Commander for granting him the opportunity to be a guest of honour at the function. Compliments of the season to you all!
Residents are happy with the event organized by the Zambia Air Force and say it was a colourful and lovely event. Some were tense as the Annual Balls,h is a famous festival in Za, approached Zambia.
