The dedication and seriousness this course demands are crucial to its successful completion. I have confidence that you will pull through and graduate without problems.”

Addressing the broader context of international collaboration, the Minister expressed his appreciation for the partnerships with allied countries and beyond who sent students.

“We cherish the collaboration and partnership with our counterparts from neighbouring countries and other allies. It is through such partnerships that we can collectively work towards the development and maintenance of peace in the region and beyond,” he stated.

The Deputy Zambia Air Force Commander and Chief of Air Staff (COAIRS), Maj Gen Arthur Kalaluka, joined his counterparts from other Services and flanked the Minister of Defence during the opening ceremony.

A total of 77 student officers were selected: 65 from the Zambia Defence Force and Security Services and 12 student officers from allied countries, which include Kenya and Sri Lanka, have been set and have to brace themselves for a year of intense training, rigorous schedules, demanding assessments, critical thinking skills in high-pressure scenarios amid physical fitness and simulated exercises to test their responses to complex in-depth military decisions, strategy, leadership, and operational planning.

The opening of Course 26 not only signifies a new chapter in the education and training of these future military leaders but also reinforces the commitment to fostering regional partnerships for the greater goal of ensuring stability, development and peace.
