Zimbabwe: A song of Master H ft Michael Magz has been dragged into a copyright claim on YouTube. After Blessing Kamwendo put the copyright claim, the video has been taken down.
As per the sources, rumour was spread that Blessing Kamwendo is the person behind the YouTube channel ‘Zimcelebs Originals’ as he is not happy with the way they were treated.
Notably, the song has been trending on the internet and the singers Master H and Michael Magz are enjoying this but they have not reacted anything or said regarding the copyright claim.
Considering the incident, the Zimcelebs Originals officially released a note in which they confirmed the taking down of the video of the song and wrote, “I Zimcelebs Originals, I decided to take down Master H song.”
The channel officials also told that they were not happy with the way the singers treated him and his team, “Ndezvavo as I was not happy with the way they treated I and artist (Spitfire).”
The officials also asked to the singers to come up with the agreement after which the issue might be resolved, “If we come to an agreement, you will see the song.”
Following the copyright claim issue, many social media users and readers responded to it.
A user Gerald Firelox I-Am commented, “This is why I always say these Bloggers have killed artist careers. It is sad they think that their existence helps artists when it actually drags it. Artists existed way before bloggers had Internet access but oh well. Monamata Ana Plot and ZimCelebs seem to give the artists money back when they get paid for the streams and views.”
To which a person with username Mrsmooth Mrsmooth reacted by tagging Gerald Firelox I-Am, “you have to be specific on who you responding to not just enveloping everyone because of one person or group. I am a Blogger and I actually support Artists, so for you to just say Bloggers kill Artists careers could be true but not all of us stop painting everyone to suit your narrative.”
He added in his reply, “There is a lot of nonsensical power shift in our music industry and unfortunately people with following think they dictate everything and they are Gods but on this one I can’t really comment as I don’t have both sides, so talk to the so called ZIM Celebs we small fish leave us as you do and some of these bloggers do a very good job promoting these Artists without recognition from the Artists and the industry as it’s corrupt to the core and I think that ZIM Celebs is biased.”
Another user Miles Oscar Matunya wrote, “They are taking children’s songs and trending them, saying no to intellectual property, theft.”
