Zimbabwe: A thief who is suspected of looting car batteries was assaulted by a mob in Ruwa and after the assault he died in a fowl run at a house in the area.
As per the sources, the suspect is identified as Shadreck Maresa who was caught stealing batteries which led the incident to occur at this point.
The National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner of Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) – Paul Nyathi has confirmed the incident and said that the investigation is still going on.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “Police in Ruwa is investigating circumstances that surrounds the case of murder in which Shadreck Maresa of age 34 died in a fowl run at a house in Damfalls Phase-5 in Ruwa.”
Spokesperson Nyathi added, “The victim was allegedly assaulted by a mob in Gazebo Area, where he was caught stealing batteries.”
Another incident which ZRP in Bindura investigating is a case of murder in which a man is yet to be identified who was found dead with a stab wound on the chest near the Cottco Panning Site.
As per the sources, the victim was wearing blue jeans, an orange T-shirt, black shorts, a grey cap, pink shoes and a wristwatch.
Bindura police has urged the locals that anyone with the information related to the case might assist the cops with the investigations and should contact the nearest Police Station.
Besides these two cases, the ZRP is still busy in investigating a case of man aged 48 years, who was found dead, last week on Tuesday. The man was found dead on the veranda of an abandoned house in Mayambara, Seke with a deep wound on his head.
As per the reports by the police, the victim is identified as Daniel Mpindula and his body was taken to a local hospital mortuary for post-mortem, after which the investigation of the case was launched by the police.
Notably, Mpindula was found at the abandoned house near Chirigwati Inn, Mayambara on Jan 23, 2024.
