Machakos, Kenya: The three students from the Early Bird Group of Schools secured the highest marks during this year’s examination. These 14-year-olds are the first in the Machakos district to pass with the highest grade in the KCEP Examination.
The Prestigious Earlybird Group of School is a privately owned school in Kathome in Machakos County. This session, the school has got their three shining little stars to crack the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE examination with the highest grade.
The three students, Elvis, James and Leon, have secured more than 400 marks in this year’s examination.
Elvis Bosire topped the school with 407 marks, followed by James Israel, 14 years and Leon Mutua also.14, with 403 and 400 marks, respectively.
During their Interview, the students expressed gratitude and thanked their teachers for their continuous support. Through their teacher’s efforts, the students got to sit prepared for the examination. They also shared their dreams and visions.
James said his dream school is Mang’u High, while Mutua wants to attend Alliance High School in Kiambu County.
Hope Kyalo, who scored 394 marks, told journalists at the school that her dream high school is Chogoria Girls and that she wanted to become a doctor in the future.
The school community, led by the Director of Earlybird Group of schools, John Muchina, broke into song and dance as they celebrated the sterling performance in the examination that marked the end of KCPE.
Muchina showered the teachers, pupils, and parents of the school for their efforts that led to good results.
The headteacher, Ambrose Wamalwa, expressed his satisfaction with the results in which more than 90 pupils scored more than 300 marks, giving the school a mean score of 358.
“We work as a team here. Our teachers worked hard, and so did our pupils, hence the sterling performance,” said the headteacher.
He attributed the school’s success to God and the hard work of the teachers, pupils, and the full support of parents.
