Zambia: Former Army Commander General Kingsley Chinkuli launched his book on Friday, 29th December titled “Reigning in Chaos and the Genius of Command.”
This book is a biography of General Kingsley Chinkuli and is authored by Major Victor Simukonda. General Kingsley served as the first commander of Zambian defence forces and the first indigenous Zambian Army commander.
While addressing the gathering at the Army headquarters, Arakan Barracks, General Chilkuli said that this book reveals various aspects of his life and career, he had also spotlighted the challenges and trials that he faced as the First Indigenous commander.
This book will be an inspiration to the generation to come who want to get into military service and serve the nation with utmost sincerity.
He also urged men and women in uniform to continue serving the country diligently. Through this book, he emphasises the duty and the discipline involved in the army and how the new aspirants who are willing to join the army in future can be prepared and be aware of the excitement and the hard work required to be instituted within themselves.
Major Simukonda, the author of the book, emphasizes the transformative impact of the book on the Defence Force and the country.
The book launch was attended by individuals from diverse backgrounds, including the Zambia Army Commander, Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi, and his deputy and Chief of Staff, Major General Geoffrey Choongo Zyeele.
Also in attendance were former service chiefs, retired military personnel, and former first lady Maureen Mwanawasa were also in attendance, they were not just present as an attendee but had also played major roles in the book and the biography of the former Army General Kingsley Chinkuli.
As the event concluded, it is evident from the event that launched “Reigning in Chaos and the Genius of Command” is not just the biography of the defence person but it’s a testament to the discipline, leadership and inspiration to the future generation who are or aren’t interested to serve the nation as becoming an Army cadet.
