Nigeria: The Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George successfully oversaw the commissioning of the Multipurpose Community Center. The project was one of his signature projects, which he promised to the people of the Angulama Community.
The handover ceremony for the multipurpose centre for the people of the community was hosted on February 28. The people of the Asari Toru Local Government Area are extremely happy about the development.
At the handover ceremony, Executive Chairman George shared the specifications of the multipurpose centre. According to the executive chairman, the building has the capacity to host and hold 500 people.
The building also has a one-bedroom flat apartment for the king of the community and other pivotal amenities. The completed structure was commissioned by the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr Dakorinama Alabo Kelly Fred George.
During the commissioning of the structure, he praised the efforts of Executive Chairman, Onengiyeofori George. He called Executive Chairman George the performing Chairman and praised him for his developmental impact on the people of Angulama.
At the same event, George Kelly passed a vote of confidence on Chairman Onengiyeofori George. He asserted that he must be given another chance to continue to serve his people.
Further, George Kelly remembered the good works of the former Governor of Rivers State, now Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Further, he remembered that the minister was responsible for the massive construction of roads linking 6 communities in Asalga. He asserted that the Angulama Community was a key beneficiary of the project.
The Chairman of Asalga, Onengiyeofori George, also recalled that the country’s people benefit tremendously from the road construction.
He noted that Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was instrumental in bringing to an end to the era of difficult transportation and communication in Angulama and its neighbouring communities. The handover and commissioning ceremony of the Multi-Purpose Community Center was attended by many members of the community.
The government officials delivered brief remarks at the event. They also talked about the project’s significance and asserted that it would help encourage community peace and unity.
The community was happy with the development and marked the occasion with a colourful display of masquerades and other traditional dance groups.
The event was heavily attended by political bigwigs in Asalga who extolled the social developmental initiative of the Asari Toru Local Government Area chairman, Onengiyeofori George in their various turns.
