Zambia: The government of Zambia has officially handed over a brand-new 1×2 classroom block at Chilombo combined school. The school is situated in Kaoma Central Constituency and has provided education to students from the community for years.
The donated classroom blocks are being constructed with a budget of over K400,000.
The state-of-the-art infrastructure promises to revolutionise the learning experience for pupils of the combined schools. The students were previously sharing classrooms with lower-grade pupils thereby, reducing learning hours.
Kaoma District Commissioner, Kashina Sheba highlighted the government’s commitment to providing quality education during the handover ceremony. Sheba highlighted that parents that were. H in the habit of forcing girls into early marriages .
In this regard, she said that this is a crime and the parents indulging in such actions can face significant consequences.
“As a Government, we are committed to providing quality education to our children. This classroom block is a testament to our Government’s dedication to investing in the future of Kaoma,” she stated. She added that the new classroom block is part of a broader effort to enhance educational infrastructure in the region.
Kaoma Central Member of Parliament, Brigadier General, Morgan Sitwala, highlighted the importance of educational infrastructure in achieving Kaoma’s educational objectives.
Brigadier General. Sitwala also urged the Chilombo combined school management to establish a football pitch, promoting academic and physical fitness among pupils.
Brigadier General Sitwala supported the initiative, by donating sports attire to the learners. Kaoma Town Council Chairperson, Tauzen Libinga expressed gratitude to the people of Chilombo for supporting President Hakainde Hichilema and other elected leaders.
He emphasized the Government’s commitment to developing all areas of the country without segregation. In his vote of thanks, Education Standards Officer, Emmanuel Mukeya, representing the Kaoma District Education Board Secretary, Dickson Pola, noted that the new classroom building is a dream come true and appreciated the Government’s generosity.
A grade nine pupil, Mundia Mako thanked the Government for increasing classroom accommodation, ensuring pupils no longer have to share with lower-grade students.
This development is a testament to the government’s dedication to education, marking one of over 40 new classroom blocks constructed in Kaoma Central Constituency alone.
