The donation from Luthando Holdings will help SOFF significantly. According to First Lady Chakwera,  it will ease mobility for the foundation’s field officers in rural areas.

The first lady made the remarks during the presentation of the bicycles on at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe. Chakwera said the current bicycles being used by field officers are not in good shape as they usually have breakdowns, putting their lives at risk.

“As SOFF, we appreciate the support we receive from our partners which has helped us to improve livelihood of needy people. These motorcycles will help our field officers to reach out to more girls and women in the rural communities,” said Chakwera.

She said SOFF is committed to empower and support women and girls to achieve their dreams. Managing Director for Luthando Holdings, Hendrix Laher, said it is important for them to give the donation to SOFF following challenges field officers face.

“We thought of donating these motorcycles as they will improve outreach, increasing efficiency and ensuring that no distance is too great to support lives in the communities,” said Laher.
