Cape Town: City hospital security guards has been suspended for misbehaving with a patient. Guards from Karl Bremer Hospital in Cape Town were seen dragging the patient inappropriately.
Reportedly, two security guards of the Karl Bremer Hospital, situated in Cape Town are suspended from their jobs for treating a patient badly. The guards were filmed by another person present at the moment.
The Video of this cruel incident has gone viral on social media as the security guards can be seen dragging the patient through the hospital.
As per the sources, the patient was bleeding when she arrived at Karl Bremer Hospital and was handled roughly by the security guards. When asked, the guards called patient a ‘bother’.
Considering this, the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness has released a statement in response to the incident. The department stated, “Karl Bremer Hospital deeply regrets the filmed incident circulating on social media, in which a patient was handled by one of the security guards at the facility.”
According to the recent reports released by the Health and Wellness Department of the Western Cape, it was decided to conduct an investigation before giving any final judgement. Obeying the decision, the hospital and service providers took internal actions to address the situation.

After continuous search and investigation, it was found that the patient was admitted to the hospital as she had a head injury. The Chief Operating Officer of the Western Cape Health and Wellness Department – Dr. Saadiq Karriem also released his official statement and said that there was no valid excuse found or given by the hospital security guards for their behaviour.
Chief Operation Officer Dr. Karriem said that the particular patient is well-known to the Karl Bremer Hospital. He narrated the actual incident and said that he understands the staff see her regularly and often. The patient had been discharged and apparently did not want to leave the hospital premises and that is when the whole incident took place and went viral.
The guards have been punished for their wrong behaviour and the hospital has also assured that no such complaint or incident will occur again in future.
