Cape Town: The World Travel Market Africa celebrated the launch of the 4th edition of This is Cape Town Magazine with the host City of Cape Town.
At the launch of new edition of the magazine, the industry giants tackled the bold question ‘Is Africa Sabotaging Itself?’. The launch event was held at the iconic Southern Sun Cullinan Hotel, where these leaders dove deep into the roadblocks holding African tourism back and how to move forward.
Moreover, the spotlight has shone on the voices behind the stories at the Africa Travel Week Media Awards. The awards and recognition honours the journalists, photographers and creatives shaping the global view of travel landscape of Africa.
However, the day was completely jam packed with the WTM Africa 2025 theme ‘Igniting Africa!’ MMC for Economic Growth and Tourism – Alderman James Vos extended his gratitude and said, “Thank you to our partners and sponsors: Alvearium Gin, Paul Wallace Wines, Southern Sun Cullinan Hotel, Host City of Cape Town, African Gypsy, Painted Wolf Wines and Afrikoa Chocolate.”
At WTM Africa 2025, the City of Cape Town congratulated the #WTMA2025 Stand Award Winners! Where the standout exhibitors showcased creativity, excellence and the spirit of doing business. The categories involved were as follows:

“We are proud to be the hosts of Africa’s largest tourism exhibition and we’re growing year after year!” expressed Alderman Vos. Well, Cape Town is Africa’s tourism Capital. Here, tourism is a team sport. It must be a great place for it to be a great place to visit and invest.
