The City of Cape Town is calling Capetonians and all small, micro and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs) to join the Lunchtime Business Session. SMMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs are asked to be a part of this livestreaming, organised by the Economic Growth Directorate Department.
Lunchtime Livestream Session aims to let entrepreneurs know, how the City of Cape Town can help their businesses grow better. The online session is being arranged to educate and inform entrepreneurs, small businesses and SMMEs on the services that are provided by the Economic Growth Directorate Department.
Also to educate them on how they can receive advantages from using these services, and how they can access these services.
The Lunchtime Livestream Business Session with Economic Growth will be hosted online via Teams App on Thursday, August 28, 2025. It will be telecasted live on City of Cape Town’s YouTube page, also, to bring SMMEs in touch with the important officials or necessary media platforms as their business demands.
Furthermore, the session will also include training session, the Business Hub or tangible steps towards growing their business, by assisting them all to bridge the gaps and providing a way forward.
Lunchtime Livestream Session is important to join for Capetonians as they will gain insight into the service and business offerings by the Economic Growth Directorate Department. The session will indulge people, educating them on smart and sustainable expansion of their business.
During the ongoing live session attendees can try their hands on tailored resources and tools which are designed or built particularly to help them scale up their businesses strategically and focus on genuine customer needs, rather than concentrating on arbitrary upgrades.
Here, attendees can interrogate during Q&A to the guests at panel, who will be the knowledgeable speakers from the Economic Growth Directorate.
This information sharing and exchanging session on Thursday will provide insights into the great support offered by the Business Hub, along with the investment incentives programmes, considering various enterprises, supplier and skills development programmes and more.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth and Tourism – Alderman James Vos said that this initiative was taken to ensure that every entrepreneur, whether they are just starting or already running a small business, should have direct access to the tools, opportunities and networks to help them succeed. As it often happens that these services feel out of reach.
Vos further stated that their mission is to make the economic growth of the City of Cape Town, truly inclusive and accessible to all businesses. Their team desire that SMMEs should get the practical support which they need to create jobs, drive innovation and grow the economy of Cape Town.
