The Governor General of Bahamas, Dame Cynthia Alexandria Pratt is currently on a state tour to the Republic of Botswana

Botswana: The Governor General of Bahamas, Dame Cynthia Alexandria Pratt is currently on a state tour to the Republic of Botswana. She toured Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB) on Tuesday, as a part of the week-long state visit.

The Governor General of Bahamas reached the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport on Sunday and was received by the officials of Botswana government. During her trip, Governor General Cynthia Alexandria Pratt is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Frederick A. Mitchell.

Some other Senior Government Officials from thee government of Bahamas are also part of the Governor General’s Convoy. Botswana and Bahamas enjoy deep rooted and strong relationships with one another.

The leadership of the two nations has been working together for the mutual benefit and development of both the nations. The official state visit of the Governor is expected to end on the 2nd August 2024.

The State visit aims to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Botswana and the Bahamas. The two nation’s representatives explore areas for enhanced cooperation such as in Tourism, Finance, Trade and Investment sectors.

The leaders of the Botswanan government shared several images from the welcome ceremony of the Governor General and her delegation.

The members of the Governor General’s delegation are also meeting with the leaders and officials of the Botswana government. During the tour, stated that it provided her with valuable insight and knowledge about Botswana’s mining industry, which will help her speak to her people with greater understanding.

DTCB Managing Director Mr Sedireng Serumola highlighted that the visit strengthens relations between Botswana and the Bahamas and offers insights into the mining industry, allowing for constructive feedback on trading practices.

This tour is one of many activities the Governor General will undertake during her state visit. The three day trip of the Governor General will continue to feature meetings with the leaders of Botswana.

The various officials and high level stakeholders of the administration are delighted to welcome the governor general for various discussions.
