Botswana: Minister of Water and Human Settlement Onneetse Ramogapi has met the officers of the Botswana Housing Corporation. The meeting was hosted as a part of the Minister’s welcome into the responsibilities of his new office.
The Minister also met the officials from the Department of Housing in Botswana. The Minister has started his work in the very first week of taking thee office and its oath.
The Minister Onneetse Ramogapi has started directing the offices under his jurisdiction to start working on the president’s promises. He asked the members of the community to make sure that they can start committing on some of the deliverable items.
During his first State of the nation address, the newly sworn in President of Botswana had made many pledges and promises. The department of Housing and BHC have ben tasked to do their best to deliver for the people in line with the President’s vision.
The President, in his first speech said the first 100 days is an opportunity to demonstrate swift, decisive action. At the same time, President Duma Gideon Boko urged his team to start laying the groundwork for the long-term transformation.
The President said that they will be working and focussing on three key pillars for the development of Botswana. These pillars are: Restoring Trust, Revitalizing the Economy and Building Equity
The officials have shared that it is the responsibility of the organization to deliver for the needs of the people. The Chief Executive Officer for Botswana Housing Corporation Nkaelang Matenge has pledged his cooperation to the new leadership.
According to the Botswana Housing Corporation CEO, they are ready to deliver on their mandate of making housing affordable. On the behalf of his team, the CEO also promised they will do all in their power to ensure they meet the demands of the people.
The Assistant Minister of Water and Human Settlement Motsamai Motsamai also accompanied his senior Minister into the meeting. He appreciated BHC for efforts of making housing affordable for the people of Botswana.
He also and urged them to consider using Ipelegeng gradutes as a way of job creation for local people.
