Cape Town: The Cape Town etc has given shoutout to the movie ‘Disneynature’s Penguins’ that capture the beauty of nature, the love and commitment of Steve and Adeline’s waddle into parenthood.
The travel guide to Cape Town calls out all the penguin lovers, documentary enthusiasts and film fanatics, to kickstart their weekend with a heart-warming movie under the stars.
The screening for the movie premiered on Friday, April 19, 2024, which was joined by the non-governmental organisation ‘Sanccob’ at the party later.
Sanccob met the people who wanted to find out how to adopt a penguin, donate or discover other ways to support them before the movie began.
At the screening, the seabird pals Sanccob also offered a hamper for a lucky draw that includes a limited-edition penguin and chick plushie, a pair of WaddleOns by Marts socks, and a SandCloud beach towel.
The Disneynature’s Penguins screening was arranged at The Galileo Cinema, which is an open-air theatre at Kirstenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa.
Here, the movie watchers cosied up with a blanket and backrest, armed with gourmet goodies and followed by Steve and Adeline’s waddle into parenthood in the icy Antarctic at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden.
The ‘Disneynature’s Penguins’ was more than a movie screening that along with it showcased the music and games. Delicious food was also available for a pre-movie picnic, which was a whole great vibe.
There, the visitors enjoyed pizza, burgers, shwarmas, popcorn, and hot and cold beverages from The Galileo’s mini market and also got to taste halal, vegan, and vegetarian food, which was available there.
The stories of penguins are narrated with a sprinkle of humour as the arctic doccie is spectacular and entertaining for the whole family, especially with Ed helms who lend his voice comically to a character in the movie named ‘Steve the penguin’.
Notably, the Galileo Open Air Cinema has organized the screening in association with Nedbank Private Wealth as a proud partnership. The visitors entered at 6:00 p.m. the movie began after sunset around 7:30 p.m.
The documentary movie ‘Disneynature’s Penguins’ was originally released on April 19, in year 2019 on Earth Day. The movie is a creation of the makers and filmmaking team of ‘Bears’ and ‘Chimpanzee’, from Disney.
The story of the movie revolves around an Adelie penguin named as ‘Steve’ who joins millions of his fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring.
As Steve is on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family of his own. But nothing comes easy for him, especially when he is a target of predators such as killer whales and leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after.
