Every year World Art Day is observed on April 15 and this year also it was organised like a festivity, across the globe.

Since its inception, World Art Day has been celebrated to promote the development, diffusion, and enjoyment of art. It was proclaimed at UNESCO’s 40th General Conference Session in 2019.

World Art Day is a timely reminder that art can unite and connect people even in the most difficult circumstances.

Indeed, art has the power to bring people together, inspire them, heal them, and share emotions. During the recently conducted conflicts and crises that included COVID-19, it has become very clear.

On the occasion of Art Day, the Cape Town Tourism promoter ‘Love Cape Town’ has advised visitors to go to exciting places, which include artistic things to nurture.

Clay Café

The first and foremost is the Clay Café where people can showcase their pottery skills and make something good out of muddy clay.

It is an old dairy farm that has been turned into a Clay café. Since its inauguration, the café has expanded into eight franchised stores around the country.

Considerably, there are three locations in Cape Town, that surrounds the City Centre, Hout Bay and Paarl. The place is perfect for all ages and the ceramic hand paintings are the major attractions that merges art, food and good company.

The visitors here can choose from 180+ items, and can select their creative palette. Once the creators are done with their artistic pieces, they can be put under fire and collect after few weeks.
