Gaborone, Botswana: Childline Botswana received gifts from the Gaborone City council. Childline is a Gaborone based organization, working for the welfare of children. The city council donated products like food hampers, baby products and clothing for the children under the wing of Childline.
The organization has been working tirelessly for the benefit of the children and has remained dedicated to giving them a safe and secure living environment. Childline is extremely thankful to the officials of the Gaborone City Council for the donation that they made.
The handover of the donation took place during a brief yet important ceremony hosted in the offices of Childline Botswana. The handover ceremony was attended by several staleholders passionate about children’s welfare.
The attendants of the handover ceremony for the donation included:
- Wellness Sub Committee Chairperson Barakanye Disang
- Assistant Human Resource Manager Boitshepo Ramakgathi
- Ward Development Committee Chairperson Emelang Ipotseng.
- Other staff and representatives from Gaborone City Council and Childline Botswana.
These attendants spoke about the importance of the donation made by the GCC and shared applauded their initiative.
The representative of the organization, Gaone Chepete welcomed the staff of Gaborone City Council to their offices. She announced that it is the goal of the organization to offer care and support to vulnerable children.
Chairperson Barakanye Disang said that the wellness committee’s core responsibility is to help the City Council of Gaborone show their corporate social responsibility and give back to the community.
For her part, Assistant Human Resource Manager Boitshepo Ramakgathi appreciated the effort done by the city council. She said that the committee should be the link between staff members and the community at large.
Ward Development Committee Chairperson Emelang Ipotseng thanked GCC for their noble gesture. Additionally, she gave well wishes to all committee members to continue with this notable initiative.
27 clothing gifts were offered and 34 assorted food hampers were also provided.
