Cape Town: Bay Hill Cup draw gets the ball rolling as the Recreation and Parks Department of the City of Cape Town hosted the official fixture draw. The 2025 Bay Hill Cup Tournament was observed on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Banqueting Hall, Civic Centre, Cape Town. The draw match set the wheels in motion for the kick-off of most popular youth soccer tournament in South Africa.
Reportedly, this is the 36th edition of the tournament that will take place over the Easter long weekend, to contest the final match at Athlone Stadium on April 21, 2025. The Bay Hill Premier Cup is an annual soccer tournament for under-19 players at Erica Park in Belhar with considerable community support.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Services and Health – Councillor Francine Higham said that they are just as excited as the teams and are looking forward to kick-off. The Players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.
According to Higham the tournament is a great opportunity for families, supporters and the broader community to come out in numbers and support the teams. It is also a good platform for players with exceptional skill to enhance their sporting career.
Considering this, Director of Bay Hill Premier Cup Tournament – Rayaan Alie said that the Bay Hill Premier Cup organising committee is geared and ready for action after a successful tournament launch and groups draw.
Director Alie is particularly interested in seeing how the local talent will fare against the teams travelling from abroad as well as the professional teams from outside the province. The draw set the tone for what is poised to be one of the best tournament editions’ yet.
However, there are going to be definitely some great matchups which will be revealed once the fixtures are released later this month. Rayaan Alie said that they extended a special vote of thanks to all their partners and sponsors without whom the event would not have been possible.
“Good Luck to all the teams as they prepare for BPC2025. We appeal to our communities to get behind the boys as they vie for top spot at Athlone Stadium on the April 21, 2025. Get your tickets and let’s fill the stadium and give these players the atmosphere they deserve!” added Director Rayaan Alie.
