City of Cape Town to observe 166 events in November 

Cape Town has already hosted the Killarney Motor Show, Wines 2 Whales and Liefde by die Dam, which has collectively pulled thousands of spectators this past weekend.

Cape Town: People are gearing up for another exciting month, as 166 event organisers have applied for permits this November. Also, the Earthshot Prize Awards took place at the Green Point Shared Fields on Wednesday, November 06, 2024 that led the busy week of events in Cape Town. 

The star-studded Earthshot Prize Award ceremony honoured and recognised NGOs and eco-entrepreneurs that pioneered the solutions towards the environmental problems of earth. Some of the world’s biggest musicians, artists, athletes and eco-activists will be in Cape Town for the glitzy occasion, that will also include performances by the Grammy nominated artist Davido. 

The event will also include performances by internationally renowned artist Diamond Platnumz; Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award Winner Lebo M; the Ndlovu Youth Choir and BET Award-nominated DJ Uncle Waffles.

Furthermore, the residents and visitors are advised to stay updated of road closures in and around the Green Point Precinct between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The closed roads include Fritz Sonnenberg (at McDonald’s side), Vlei Road and Helen Suzman Boulevard, Fritz Sonnenberg and Bay Road, also Granger Bay Boulevard and Green Point A-Track parking.

Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security – Alderman JP Smith said that the diverse events calendar of the City of Cape Town is truly on show this month.
