Zimbabwe: People are getting confused by the Zimbabwe Football Association regarding the FIFA Member Association Referees Course.

ZIFA released an official note regarding not conducting any course and declared it as fake news on Monday, April 08, 2024.

But the very next day ZIFA shares a post that announces about the referee courses that will begin in capital of Zimbabwe, Harare.

As per the sources, Zimbabwe Football Association popularly known as ZIFA has announced about the FIFA Member Association Referees Course that has now began in Harare.

The courses will be led by the renowned FIFA technical instructor Felix Tangawarima and the physical instructor Bento from Mozambique.

Moreover, the courses will shape up to be a game-changer. The match officials will be conducting both theory and practical sessions.

The officials have ensured that they are primed for the fast-changing world of football. 10 female and 25 male referees from across Zimbabwe will take part and include 14 on the FIFA international panel.

However, contradicting this, on Monday, April 08, 2024, ZIFA, in its official press release, stated that the Zimbabwe Football Association has taken note of the dissemination of false information concerning the induction of FIFA courses.

ZIFA confirms, “We wish to clarify that the Association is not involved in these courses at present. Furthermore, there ae no ongoing courses currently but the Association will organise them in due time.”

“It is crucial to emphasise to the public that impersonate football officials which is a criminal offense and is spreading such misleading and alarmist statements through social media platforms,” said ZIFA.

ZIFA also cleared that all communication regarding the FIFA Courses will be strictly conducted through the official channels. The officials have urged the public to disregard any statement that has not been issued through official ZIFA channels.

Following this a person named Jonathan Ralph Kadurira has commented, “Just on the 8th you said there are no current courses but will be organised in due time. And on the 9th there is a post about a course. Yaaah due time, yacho is crazy. Ma miracle babies, I mean, courses!”

Another person named Blessing Dube praised ZIFA and commented, “We applaud that!! We are also eager to have such courses at regional or district level. ZIFA level-01 etc. We also expect coaching clinics for high school coaches because they are the ones who process rough diamonds into market worth polished ones. Thumbs up to you, guys!”
