Botswana: The Gaborone City Council has enlisted three local companies to maintain roads around the City. The three companies are expected to do reconstruction of road edges and pothole patching of road networks within Gaborone.
The works are expected to commence late December 2023 with completion date set for March 2024. The organization is conducting a city upkeep exercise for the last three weeks. Under this initiative, the authorities conducted, tree planting, road levelling, and street sweeping and many other exercises.
During the city upkeep exercises, the officials also saw the condition of the roads in the communities. Following the thorough upkeep exercise of the whole city, the authorities have decided to divide the city into five zones. These zones were given to the companies: Fabcana Pty Ltd, TLL Legacy Pty Ltd and New Ott Pty Ltd.
The area of works is as follows:
Zone A which is being awarded to Fabcana Pty Ltd includes Ledumang, Tsholofelo Ext, Ext 25- BBS Area, Ext 33- Marang, Ext 26- Tsholofelo, Ext 21- Ginger, ext29/30- Ginger (BHC) , Ext 27- Boikhutso ward, Ext 19- SHHA Area , Maruapula Area and Partial.
Zone B which is being awarded to TLL Legacy Pty Ltd includes Main Mall Area, Government Enclave, Gaborone West Old Industrial, Station and Bus Rank Government Ward ( Ext 9,5,11), New Stance, New Naledi, New Canada, Ext 15- Village , Bontleng Area, White City, Ext 12, Ext 4, Ext 10 and Ext 2 Area.
Zone C which is being awarded to New Ott Pty Ltd includes Block 7, block 8, Broadhurst Industrial, Block 3- residential Area, Ext 16, Bosele ward, Ext 20 and Taung.
Zone D which is being awarded to TLL Legacy Pty Ltd includes Gaborone West Industrial, Old Naledi Area, Phase 4 and Kgale View.
Zone E which is being awarded to Fabcana Pty Ltd includes Gaborone West – Phase 1, Gaborone West- Phase 2, Block 9, Block 5, Block 6 and Central Business District ( CBD)
