Reaction Unit South Africa has received the reports of a home invasion on Nightingale Circle in Dawncrest – KZN. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) members visited the home invasion scene on Wednesday, October 25.
The officials spoke to the victim whose house was broken into and got some information about the incident. The victim, 65 year old, informed Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) that four individduals attacked the house.
The suspects broke the gate of the house and entered the yard. All the men were armed at the time of the break-in. The victim revealed that they intimidated the household help first and then approached him.
The robbers attacked the 65-year-old victim and ransacked the house thoroughly for valuables. At first, the suspects discovered a rifle in the safe. However, the suspects discarded it after they realised that it was a pellet gun.
Later, the suspects loaded two (2) TVs, one microwave and other valuables into a silver Toyota Corolla and sped off from the property. The car had a NUR registration, suggesting that the vehicle came from Umhlanga, Umdloti or La Lucia (Now part of eThekwini.)
The RUSA has pledged to find the suspects of the break-in. Allegedly, the numbers of criminal activities in KZN and Verulam have seen a drastic rise in the recent past. One of the social media users wrote, “NUR number plate is dangerous in Verulam.” Suggesting that the area harbours several criminals.
Meanwhile, other social media users have asked the Reaction Unit to bring the perpetrators to justice. Rose Bud Petal expressed her concern about the mounting crime. Her comment reads:
This Dog Nation’s first group doing it all the tym targeting Verulam. I hope they get caught by rusa. Verulam saps are sleeping, even the cbd reeks of crimes dam
Yet another section of people is expressing their disappointment with the administration. Social media user Sudeshen Pillay wrote in their comment, “And this useless govt will still say it’s wrong for us to shoot these bastards when they are on our property.”
