The Board’s Cafil Programme seeks to empower creatives in arts and film content creation to create content that upholds Kenya’s cultural values while safeguarding children from exposure to inappropriate media content.

“The Cafil also seeks to empower digital content creators to effectively utilize and monetize their artistic works on digital platforms as well as create awareness on the effects of media content and emerging technologies on vulnerable populations, especially children,” said Nelly Muluka.

Through the programme, the Board also aims to sensitize creativity on what constitutes creating appropriate film content for different age groups for responsible digital parenting and appropriate viewing practices.

Nelly Muluka reiterated the KFCB’s commitment to supporting initiatives geared towards identifying and nurturing talents among the youths in the Creative sector for job opportunities and wealth creation.

The event saw students from the University of Eldoret, Eldoret Polytechnic, Elgon View College and Cambridge College, among other institutions, showcase their diverse creative talents.

Yesterday, the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB through the Western Regional office) participated in the Mashujaa cross-country challenge race at the Masinde Muliro University grounds on Saturday, 21st October 2023.
