A delegation from Farm Africa Ethiopia today met the KFS Board of Directors for a consultation and future partnership

Kenya: A delegation from Farm Africa Ethiopia today met the Kenya Forest Service Board of Directors for a consultation. The Forest Service Board of Directors are currently on a working retreat Kwale County.

The meeting happened on Wednesday with the aim of holding fruitful discussions. The Ethiopian Delegation and the KFS shared their respective experiences on managing forest resources.

The discussion revolved around use of forest technologies on near real-time integrated landscape change tracking. Further, they also shared the best ways of monitoring and the forest alerts system.

The members of the team have shared some glimpses from the meeting on their social media account. The Board Chairman of the Kenya Forest Service, Titus Korir welcomed the delegation from Ethiopia warmly.

The delegation met with the other board members of the Kenya Forest Service. The team included the senior led by the Principal Deputy Chief Conservator of Forest Charity Munyasya.

The Ethiopian Team was led by Dr Gudina Legese, Head of Programmes Farm Africa and Bona Yadessa, Deputy Director General, Environmental Protection Authority of Oromia Regional State of Ethiopia.

The meeting served as an opportunity to deepen understanding and integration between the two organizations. The meeting also laid a strong foundation for future collaboration and partnership between the two countries.

Both the organizations are working towards attaining in sustainable forest management within the region. The Kenya Forest Service has been working hard to promote ethe welfare of the forest and the forest adjacent communities.

The members of the Kenya Forest Service have been dedicated to ensuring that the forests of the nation are not harmed. They have been running several initiatives to manage and protect the forest covers and encourage plantation of more trees.

At the same time, the team is also creating international partnerships with various environment protection agencies across the continent. The aim of the new partnerships is to further the Forest Service’s goal of dealing with climate crisis.

The people of Kenya have extended their sincere support the cause and appreciated KFS for their efforts to engage with more international and continent based partners.
