Lusaka (Zambia): Zambia Police are getting complaints because of a disturbing viral video that is circulating on all social media platforms in Lusaka. Police reported this viral video case on Sunday.
In the viral video, it seems that two male individuals are being subjected to torture on allegations of their involvement in stock theft.
The graphic and violent nature of the video has raised serious concerns among the public and law enforcement. Zambia Police Service is also aware of a disturbing video, and they are taking this matter very seriously, as per reports.
As per the Zambia police, an investigation has been launched to identify the perpetrators involved in the alleged torture and the victims depicted in the video. The incident, if proven true, represents a grave violation of human rights and goes against the principles of justice.
Zambia Police also gave an interview to the media in which they said, “We emphasize that vigilantism and acts of violence are not condoned or tolerated in any form. Citizens are urged to report suspected criminal activities to law enforcement agencies rather than taking the law into their own hands.”
They also talked about human safety, in which they said, “the safety and well-being of all individuals within our community are of utmost importance. The Police are committed to ensuring a thorough and unbiased investigation into this incident.”
They also appealed to the public for further investigation as they needed more information related to the viral video or the individual involved in that video.
Zambia Police said, “If anyone has any kind of information, Please come forward and assist police in their further investigation.”
Additionally, Zambia Police also said, please encourage social media users to refrain from sharing the video further, as it may hinder the investigation and compromise the privacy of the individuals involved.
On the same side, many social media users and residents assured that they would support the Police in this matter. Still, they also complained that once Zambia Police arrested the criminals, they would directly send them to prison and would not publish them, which disappoints us as they did the same in the cattle case.
