South Africa: The Reaction Unit officers received the reports of a robbery incident in the Verulam CBD region of KwaZulu Natal. The victim has been identified as a 37-year-old who was seriously injured in the robbery attempt.
The RUSA officials revealed that the man was seriously injured after he was stabbed, assaulted and robbed on Sunday. The incident happened shortly after the victim was seen exiting a pub on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN.
As per the officials of the Reaction Unit South Africa, the robbery attempt happened during the early hours of Sunday. The victim was found after the assault and stabbing by the members of the public. The public informed the officials that he was at the time bleeding from his injuries.
The public informed the members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) about the incident at approximately 02:57. The officials reached the scene of the crime and talked to the caller. The Reaction Officers also interviewed the victim and got the information about the incident.
The victim informed the officials that four men attacked him as he exited the pub. He was stabbed twice in his back during the incident. After the assault, the suspects stole his cell phone and R300 in cash from him.
The officials have suggested that increased incidents of robbery and assault are being recorded in the KwaZulu-Natal region. The people of the country are also in a state of fear and insecurity due to the regular robbery attempts and assault incidents being reported in the media.
Some users have taken the opportunity to share their disappointment with the incident. Due to the increasing number of such crimes, people in the region have started normalizing the incidents.
Some of the people even suggested that the victim should not have gone out in the night. According to these social media users, the victim was better off, if he was enjoying his weekend and drinking in the comfort of his home.
Some people even blamed the victim, saying “the incident will teach him not to go out in the night”
