The orphanage children who benefitted from the organization’s free healthcare services applauded them. The free services included several routine procedures, such as free dental screening for orphaned children.

At the same time, the organization donated toothpaste, toothbrushes and assorted foodstuffs worth over K3,000. The donations of the community based healthcare organization were welcomed warmly by the orphanage.

Speaking during the handover of the items, The programme manager of Markbrin Health Services Mukinda delivered brief remarks. He stated that his organisation was compelled to ensure that the vulnerable children feel part of the community.

He further noted that they often feel neglected and shunned by the local community. The children, whose parents have either abandoned them or died, have the orphanage as their only home. The owner of the orphanage, Joy Sambambi is currently taking care of more than 20 children.

In receiving the donation, Joy Sambambi expressed gratitude towards the donated items. She assured the organization that she would use them to ensure that the over twenty orphans she is currently taking care of share the proceeds equally.

The community based organization, hailing from the Manyinga District has been working for the people for several years. The organization has been providing people access to critical healthcare in communities that cannot get it easily.
