Mauritius: The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of France to Mauritius, Frédéric Bontems, met with the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade, Alan Ganoo, yesterday, at the seat of his Ministry in Port-Louis.

In a statement, Bontems indicated that the meeting with the Minister, a first encounter, was fruitful and went remarkably well. “The Minister has presented me with a very tough challenge, that of further improving our already outstanding ties in every area of our partnership,” he pointed out.

Furthermore, the French Ambassador recalled that he had the opportunity to present his Letters of Credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Prithvirajsing Roopun, just the next day after his arrival, which, according to him, was an impressively tight schedule and yet, was further testimony to the excellent standard of the bilateral relations that Mauritius and France share.
