AVIATION INDUSTRY

The aviation industry encompasses almost all aspects of air travel and the activities that helps in facilitating it. It includes the entire airline industry, aircraft manufacturing, research companies, military aviation, and much more.

Aviation also includes the activities that surrounds mechanical flight and the aircraft industry. Furthermore, aircraft includes fixed-wing and rotary-wing types, morphable wings, wing-less lifting bodies, as well as lighter-than-air craft such as hot air balloons and airships.

Aviation began back in the 18th century with the development of hot air balloon, an apparatus or travel medium, capable of atmospheric displacement through buoyancy.

Some of the most significant advancements in aviation technology came with the controlled gliding and with the flying of Otto Lilienthal, in the year 1896. After then a large step in significance came with the construction of the first powered airplane, designed by the Wright brothers in the early 1900s.

Since then, aviation has been technologically revolutionized by the introduction of the jet which permitted a major form of transport throughout the world.
