Botswana: The Mogoditshane community were officially handed the expanded Outdoor gym. The initiative was taken up by the Botswana Fiber Network, Huawai Technologies Botswana. The handover ceremony for the expaneded outdoor gym was attended by The Minister of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture, Tumiso Rakgare.

The other members of the government, who attended the handover ceremony included the Minister of Health and Wellness, Edwin Dikoloti. The event was hosted on Saturday at Mogoditshane, Nkoyaphiri.

The members of the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture were delighted to be a part of the initiative. The high level members of Botswana Fiber Network were also present at the handover event

One of the representatives of Botswana Fiber Network Kelly Loeto highlighted the significance of the day to both Bofinet and Huawei. She noted that it reflects their commitment to the health and wellness of the communities they provide services to.

Mogoditshane is one of the most crucial parts of the communities under the organization’s care. The organization has been supporting the  healthcare infrastructure of the nation.

She continued to note the importance of healthy living; having a healthy diet and most importantly, physical exercise as it is the greatest escape from severe illnesses such diabetes, cancer, high blood etc. Bofinet’s mandate is to have a healthy, happy, digitally connected society.

On the other hand, Dr Edwin Dikoloti expressed that as the ministry of Health and wellness, it is their greatest responsibility to ensure that Batswana remain healthy by the year 2036. Dikoloti reminded the community to take care of their physical fitness.

He also encouraged the people to participate in day-to-day chores such as farm work, walking to our occupational institutions, stretching etc.

The Minister of Sports, Youth et al, Rakgare expressed his outmost gratitude towards the outstanding collaboration. He thanked all the involved stakeholders for this new development.

He applauded the Ministry of health and wellness for a donation worth 10 million towards the preparation of athletic team that will be representing Botswana in Paris Olympics
