Zambia: Kafue area Member of Parliament Mirriam Chonya has donated 50 pockets of Cement to her constituency. The donation will be used towards the construction of a wall fence at the Railway clinic in Kafue District.

The officials have shared that thee donation will help in supporting the development of the railway clinic infrastructure. The new wall fence will significantly enhance the security of the medical facility and give residents access to safer healthcare.

Member of Parliament Chonya said the initiative to construct a wall fence at a local health facility is Community based. The members of the community reached the verdict after witnessing several cases of land encroachment at the clinic.

The official noted that the members of the community had reached out to her to her to support them in the development. The member of the parliament also noted that

She said there is a need to enclose the clinic in a wall fence, which will provide privacy to the people accessing various services and safeguard the premises and equipment.

“Enclosing the clinic in a wall fence will not only provide privacy to our people accessing various services here but the much-needed security to safeguard the premises and equipment,” said MP Chonya.

Chonya stated that the construction of a wall fence is a quicker way to stop further encroachment of land for future expansion.

“Construction of a wall fence at this health facility is the only quicker way of putting a stop to further encroachment of land for future expansion,” said Ms. Chonya.

Further, Matanda ward Councilor Micheal Sinkala said the initiative has received overwhelming support from the community stakeholders as evidenced by the number of pledges.

Furthermore Sinkamba disclosed that several building material donations have been received at the health facility.

“We took this initiative with other community members to come up with a wall fence for the railway clinic to protect the facility from the encroachment which has been taking place and so far, the response is overwhelming,” said Sinkala.
