Botswana: The First Lady of Botswana, Neo Jane Masisi accompanied the first lady of Estonia to fashion and exhibition event. The President and First Lady of the Republic of Estonia are on a four day state visit to Botswana.

The African world leaders have visited various significant locations in the country. The couple has also interacted with several officials from various government officials to work towards stronger and better relations with the country.

First Lady Neo Masisi was happy to lead the Estonian leader to the Fashion and Exhibition event, which was hosted on Wednesday under the theme “Moreki, Morekisi, itsaneng.”

The event served as an opportunity to showcase Botswana’s fashion, crafts, and indigenous products. The fashion show was a versatile display of contemporary and chic leteisi, Herero attires, and the Khiba.

Meanwhile, the exhibition stalls showcased products like:

  • Donkey soap
  • Local Diffusers and Candles
  • Gemere
  • Bopi Jwa Korong
  • Agro Processed foods like the Lerotse energy bar
  • Lerotse jam, as well as leather products like bags and shoes, are among others

Exhibitors were predominantly women as the First Lady of Botswana, Neo Masisi strives for the inclusion and economic empowerment of women. The event also comes at a great time as the world is gearing up to celebrate the 2024 edition of International Women’s Day.

The First Lady of Botswana, Neo Jane Masisi, was the keynote speaker of the fashion and exhibition event. She delivered brief remarks about the importance of women’s economic strength.

She claimed that it is through the economic empowerment of women, that they can be free from Gender Based Violence. The empowerment of the women of Botswana can also possibly lead to a reduction in HIV prevalence amongst women.

The President of Botswana shared glimpses of the fashion and exhibition event on his social media. He was happy with the success of the event. Meanwhile, the people of Botswana also extended their best wishes to First Lady Masisi.
