The National Youth Development Council (NYDC), in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, kicked off a four-day workshop. The Workshop was specifically on training Youth Organisation leaders in Comprehensive Sexual Education.
It was organized with the help of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
During Day 1 of the Workshop, 21 organizations and associations were present under the registered NYDC. These Organisations specifically deal with sexual reproductive health and rights.
NYDC Acting Council Secretary Waana Kankinza called the participants to put into practice what they will gain and help foster gender equality among young people. He also called the Youth to live a healthy life and navigate life-changing decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
The capacity building Workshop is a weeklong activity and is being hosted at Chongwes Mika Convention Center.
Some previous workshops held by NYDC
Reportedly, the NYDC continues to hold such workshops to enable the Youth to achieve their aspirations and ambitions.
Recently, NYDC, in collaboration with the Local Government in Chipata and Eastern Visionary Youths, held a two-day capacity-building workshop on equipping recently registered NYDC organizations.
The Workshop aims to enable the Youth to successfully apply for government empowerment funds such as CDF.
It covered several sessions, including how to open a bank account for a group, report writing, writing minutes, and filling CDF forms, among others.
The Workshop was attended by 15 NYC registered organizations in Chipata District at the Local Government Conference Center.
The NYDC seeks to ensure that all Youth organizations, such as Clubs, Cooperatives and Associations, are duly registered and given the necessary skills in various spheres.
