Nigeria: The Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George called for peace and lawful elections. He has urged the youths of Buguma city to be peaceful and law abiding during the forthcoming election of the Buguma Youth Council. The election comes this Saturday 24th February, 2024

With the elections less than a week away, the Executive Chairperson of the Asari Toru Local Government Area took the opportunity interact with the youngsters

The Chairman, Onengiyeofori George called for peace and lawful elections in a meeting with all compound youth chairmen, secretaries, and women leaders of Buguma. The meeting was also attended by the members of the BYC Electoral Committee at the Council’s Hall of Fame, Buguma city.

The chairman of the electoral committee was also present at the meeting.  Speaking earlier at the meeting, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Songo Amachree, said notification for the smooth conduct of the election for the new executives of the BYC had earlier been sent out since Saturday last week.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Songo Amachree also shared the further details about the election process.

According to the Eleco Chairman, the itinerary of activities are as follows:

Sales of form commences and ends – Saturday 17th February to Tuesday 20th February 2024.

Screening of candidates holds on Wednesday 21st February, 2024, by 10:00am at BYC Secretariat, Buguma City.

Campaign Kickstart from, and ends on 21st – 23rd February, 2024.

Reading of Manifesto starts 23rd February, 2024, by 4:00 – 6:00pm, at the BYC Secretariat, Buguma City.

Election proper takes place on Saturday 24th February, 2024, by 9:00am, at the Asalga Council Hall of Fame in Buguma City.

The officials are working hard to ensure that the election process can be concluded smoothly and effectively.
