Ottawa, KZN: Woman emerges unscathed as vehicle overturns

KwaZulu Natal: A car overturned of Old Main Road in Ottawa-KZN a short while ago on Wednesday, November 16, 2023. The Reaction Unit South Africa reached the spot to investigate the scene.

The car was a maroon Hyundai, which was driven by a lady driver who initially lost her balance, resulting in her car overturning on one side. After the incident took place, people in the nearby locality helped the lady to come out from the car safely.

People also tried to investigate the matter on their own. Since clues and any other evidence were not found, they sought RUSA for further investigation.

The RUSA team received multiple calls from the public from 15:59 requesting their assistance at the scene.

Upon arrival, people from nearby areas explained the incident to the unit. The driver made her statements that she was travelling in the direction of Southridge from Phoenix – KZN when she lost control of her car.

The vehicle veered off the road and travelled up an embankment before it overturned. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

Meanwhile, after the incident, people came out to extend their support to the lady. They also extended their hope and thanked God that, hopefully, the driver and other people are safe and not hurt.

One user, identified as Malulu Mayeza, noted, “Thanks for coming out safe and driving. The most important thing in the soul of a person is a car and insurance. Don’t cry too much; it will pass.”

While some people from the community also made their views regarding road safety and stated that the roads needs speed humps. While another user, identified as Sibusiso B Dlamini, said, “Hyundai Venue is unstable saw another video of it turning after it hit a bump”.

Several Users also thanked the RUSA Unit for always being on time to help and assist people in need. One user named Ruth Khubazi noted, “Thanks, RUSA, you are always on time, not labo after action ama late comer”.
