Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has expressed condolences following the terrorist attack in India. The attack has shocked the whole world with the inhumanity displayed by the gunmen. The Caribbean nature isle is hurt to see such ferocity done in the name of religion.
PM Skerrit shared a heartfelt note in which he expressed his rage over this recently occurred violence. While expressing himself he penned on his official X handle that he and the federation of Dominica stands with India.
Prime Minister of Dominica – Roosevelt Skerrit stressed that he condemned this act and said, “I strongly condemn the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent people.”
He added to his note that they are in sorrow and are feeling bad for the families of the victims who have to suffer for the rest of their life. PM Skerrit further stated, “Dominica extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”
PM Skerrit tagged the Prime Minister of India – Narendra Modi and highlighted that they stand in solidarity with him and the people of India in their fight against terrorism.
The gunmen killed over 20 people and injured a dozen in the disputed Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. It was a rare assault on tourists, considering years of insurgency to India’s rule.
Notably, the devastating massacre targeted the sightseers at a famous tourist destination Pahalgam, in J&K, India. The place is situated in the mountainous Anantnag district. The incident is the worst assault in the region on civilians in years. Out of the killed people, most of them were identified as travellers.
Furthermore, the authorities are still investigating the attack, as tensions are rising between India and its neighbouring countries.
The Prime Minister of India also released an official statement in which he clearly stated that the perpetrators would be brought to justice. He marked that the resolve to fight terrorism is unshakeable and it will get even stronger.
The Indian Prime Minister cut short his trip to Saudi Arabia in the wake of the attack and returned to the country upon receiving the news.
