Dominica: Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit has extended his best wishes to the athletes of Dominica who have travelled to Trinidad and Tobago for the CARIFTA GAMES. The team of athletes led by their coaches and the team management will be participating in several athletic events.
The CARIFTA GAMES started on April 19 and will run till April 21, 2025. A team of nine athletes has travelled to Trinidad for the athletic events which include long jump, short put, relay, Javelin and discus throw.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit extended his sincere best wishes to the young athletes and hoped that they would make Dominica proud. The CARIFTA GAMES are a regional tournament played between the Caribbean Nations and African athletes.
It is a platform for healthy competition which gives atheletes from under represented nations a moment to shine. The Caribbean has in recent years give the international sports and athletics fraternity several stars.
Some of these stars may also be seen at the CARIFTA GAMES during the three day festivities. The athletes from Dominica will be participating in several events.
The team consists of the following members
- Akiesha Like for the Open 4X400 Mixed Relay event
- Godisha Joseph for Under 20 Discus
- Kerrelle Etienne for the Under 20 100 m and 200 m races
- Dalia Guiste for the Open 4X400 Mixed Relay event
- Chris Toussaint for the Open 4X400 Mixed Relay event
- Jeriah Lewis for the Under 20 Long Jump event
- Addison James for Under 20 Javelin and Discus
- Sean Vidal
- Jaden Joseph for Under 17 Long Jump event.
The coaching staff for the team will consist of:

The Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit hopes that the team will perform well and bring back laurels to the nation. He shared that he is proud of the athletes and wishes them all the best for their performances.
The 52nd edition of the CARIFTA GAMES will see participants from several other Caribbean Nations, including the hosts Trinidad and Tobago, twin islands, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and more.
