St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew acknowledged the march with purpose, observed on May 05, 2025 on the streets of Basseterre. It was conducted by the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Movement and SKNLP led government.
PM Drew expressed that they marched with purpose on May 05 through the streets of Basseterre. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude and thanked all those who came out and stood strong in support of the tireless work, which is being done by the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Movement and SKNLP-led government to advance the rights of workers and uplift the lives of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Drew was obliged and said that together they are writing the next chapter of progress, where every worker, every family and every community moves forward. He highlighted the spirit of Labour lives on.
Considering this, Dr. Terrance Drew mentioned earlier that May 05 is celebrated as The Labour Day, and for the same he invited everyone to join the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party as they went to the streets to march for the rights of the workers, fairness and the continued upliftment of all people under the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.
Prime Minister Drew further stated to celebrate the victories that they have won and pushed forward together for even greater advancements. Bring your energy, your pride and your unwavering spirit.
Earlier, before commencing on the march with purpose, on May 04, 2025 Drew had the honour of joining the comrades, supporters and fellow Labour Stalwarts for the annual wreath-laying ceremony, where they honoured various ministers.
Dr. Drew further explained that this is a deeply meaningful tradition where they paused to reflect and extended thanks for the sacrifices of those who came before them.
Notably, these brave individuals laid the foundation for the freedoms and advancements that they enjoyed in St. Kitts and Nevis. Their struggles, their resilience and their unwavering commitment to justice and equality continued to inspire every step.
He exclaimed that as they carry the movement forward, they do so in their memory and with a renewed pledge to always put people first, ‘For The Good That We Can Do’! However, they will never forget their service and will never stop fighting for the betterment of the nation.
