South Africa: Africa Weather Forecast launched their climate summary in which they reported that a Cut-Off Low moving east in the first part of the week perpetuates the cloudy, cool and wet conditions in the east at first, followed by warm to hot conditions midweek. And a cold front in the south during the weekend.
On Monday, it is anticipated that there will be cloudy weather with scattered to widespread (and possibly high-impact storms, leading to heavy rain/flash flooding) thunderstorms over Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the far north of the Free State. KZN and the Eastern Cape will be cloudy with showers, possibly heavy over KZN.
Elsewhere, it will be mostly sunny and dry. It will be cool to cold over eastern and northern areas of the country but warm over western regions.
On Tuesday, 17 October, there will be partly cloudy in the east as some areas start to clear but cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the northeast, especially in Limpopo, with lighter rainfall elsewhere over the eastern provinces.
As per the reports, from Wednesday to Friday, there is much calmer and warmer in the east and north, with only isolated showers over coastal areas throughout the rest of the week. Dry and increasingly hot over western areas of the country and possibly very hot along the west coast.
Moreover, Medium chance of isolated showers over the central Eastern Cape and Western Cape’s coastal areas of the region.
And on the weekend, It’ll become cooler over western and southern parts of the country with growing showers at times, most likely over southern parts, leading to moderate to slightly intense showers between George and Plettenberg Bay on Saturday.
Eastern areas are likely to see a return of scattered afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday, including Gauteng, eastern North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, eastern Free State and KZN.
