St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew addressed the nation during the zonal time hall meeting. The meeting for Constituency 1 and 8 was held at Newtown Community Centre at 7:30 pm. The Constituency meeting are hosted by Prime Minister every month last Wednesday.

St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew addressed the nation during the zonal time hall meeting. The meeting for Constituency 1 and 8 was held at Newtown Community Centre at 7:30 pm. The Constituency meeting are hosted by Prime Minister every month last Wednesday. 

In his opening remarks, Dr Drew applauded the parliamentary representative for his work for the country’s welfare. Dr Drew also discussed the country’s most crucial issue, Minimum Wages, in which he said the government of St Kitts and Nevis provide workers with a fair and reasonable wage that is justified. Dr Terrance Drew asserted that they had discussed the increase in the people’s minimum wage. 

The increment in people’s wages can improve their lifestyle, and at the same time, it will open more doors through which they can earn more. Moreover, St Kitts and Nevis government improve the resident’s social security. PM Drew also shared several tips through which people can make more money and live a healthy lifestyle. 

PM Drew said higher wages give you a chance to increase your mortgage, and most importantly, you can send your child to a good school and many more. 

Moreover, Dr Drew also talked about the development bank. He informed residents about the loans the development bank provides to small businesses to help them set up and promote small businesses nationwide. He also shared one of the schemes of a development bank in which they provide students loans for their studies. 

Dr Drew also clarified that in the student loan, students do not have to pay any instalments for their first four years, and return payment will start when a child has returned from University. The Prime Minister stated that this is similar to waiving off the interest for the loan, as the students will save upwards of $100,000 in loan repayment through this government initiative.
