Please note that the strategic focus areas will prioritise events aligned to the following themes, such as:
- Culture and Heritage
- Township and Community Tourism
- Active Adventure (Outdoor activities & sport)
- Sustainability (including community-based tourism)
- Gastronomy (Food and Wine)
- Halal
Note that the only applications submitted via the online platform will be considered eligible. Interested ones can access the form here.
All information related to the event application process as well as the RFJMA requirements can be accessed through links included on the mentioned form.
Furthermore, Wesgro is also inviting the participants to join the Webinar during the ongoing Leisure Tourism Partnerships with a focus on small towns and townships event.
Wesgro invited interested event organisers to a webinar on its leisure tourism event partnerships. This session will provide clear guidance on the required processes to apply.
With a focus on small towns and townships, the session will explore how events can drive inclusive growth in communities across the province. The webinar will be observed on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 01:30 p.m. to 01:45 p.m. in the afternoon.
Notably, the event partnerships allow Wesgro’s tourism team to collaborate with various niche and smaller leisure events around the province. This will create an opportunity to promote the broader Western Cape tourism destination. Also, it will offer the variety of tourism experiences for young and old.
The Wesgro Trade Unit provides a free and confidential service to help Capetonians establish and grow their business in Cape Town and the Western Cape.
