South Africa: The members of the Community found the body of a 26-year-old female on an unpaved road in Amaoti – KZN. The discovery was made in the mid morning hours of Friday. The members of the communkty who found the body alerted the reaction unit for assistance.
The officials of the reaction Unit received the call for assistance at approximately approximately 08:32. A team was dispatched to the scene of the crime and on arrival in Amaoti – KZN, they found the victim.
The body of the 26 year old victim was found in a pool of her own blood. The reaction unit officers confirmed that they found her undergarment and sandals lying a distance of 50 meters away.
The officials have interviewed some of the residents of the area to ascertain the accurate circumstances leading up to the death. The investigation suggested that the deceased had been last seen with a friend.
The two were drinking at a nearby place after which the said friend walked the victim back to her house where she lived with her boyfriend. The friend allegedly left her in the driveway of her boyfriend’s house. After this, the friend returned to her home.
The officers have examined the body of the victim for evidence of injury and other marks of identification. After the examination, reaction officers believe that the victim had been dragged several metres from her boyfriend’s yard.
Afterwards, she was stabbed to her death by the suspects. The drag marks were visible on the unpaved road. The reaction officers were not able to immediately confirm if she was raped by her offenders.
After the preliminary investigation, the case was handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for the further investigation. The people of the country have expressed their sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.
They expressed hope that the persons responsible for the death of the young woman are found and put behind bars. The members of the community have remarked on the increasing incidents of crime within the community.
Some people confessed that they do not feel safe in the province anymore.
