Zimbabwe: American President – Joe Biden announced his decision of not going for the presidential elections for the second time, on July 21, 2024. Biden shocked everyone with his decision as no-one knew this will be so dis-heartened.
When the whole world is still in shock with his decision, Zimbabwe is making comparison in their nation between the two politicians. One is president of United States Joe Biden and another one is President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
The thing to be noted here is, both men are of age 81. The American president has pulled out of the November elections, considering as the major reason, whereas the Zimbabwean president is in the first year of his second term, and there are campaigns going on demanding for him to take the third term also.
This stuff can never-be fake and can never be made up, the absurdity of this is that there’s a difference of attitude that both the president present.
According to Zimbabwe United Citizens Undertaking (ZIMUCU), The American president is like, “You know what, I’m good. I’m outta here!” Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean president is like, “Third term, I’m jut getting started, 2030 I will be there!”
The western president is like, “You can’t make this stuff up!” One is bowing gracefully, while the other is like, “I’m not done yet! I’ve got more years of leading in me… or so I think! 2030 vision.”
As per the notion of ZIMUCU, eighty-one (81) is a great age for well, for being retired and enjoying life. But leading a country, that’s a whole different story.
Reportedly, US President Joe Biden released an official note of his termination from the November elections and through which he addressed the nation and began referring the past three and a half years, that they have made great progress as a Nation.
He expressed that together they have made historic investments in rebuilding the Nation. He mentioned that he knows none of the achievements could have been possible with the support of American people.
Together they have protected and preserved the democracy nu revitalising and strengthening the alliances around the world. Biden further stated, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president. And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
He further explained that he will speak to the Nation later this week, presenting more details about his decision. He also shared a picture of him with vice-president Kamala Harris and wrote on his ‘X’ account that “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Biden said that his very first decision as the party nominee in the year 2020, was to pick Kamala Harris as his Vice-President. And it’s been the best decision that he has made. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats, it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” said Biden his last shared post on ‘X’.
