South Africa: uThukela District Academic support visit which spanned a total of two days has successfully completed on Friday. As a part of the visit, the leadership of the department of Education visited the four schools of the district and pledged their support.
The department has reiterated their unrelenting support to the educational institutions within the island. They want to ensure that the members of the educational community of the province can achieve the top position in terms of exam scores.
The heads of the schools that the department visited could not stop thanking the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education. They were grateful for the unwavering support that is provided to their schools whenever it is needed.
The schools that were privileged to have received a visit from the department members include Estcourt CMC, Mpumelelo High School and Bonokuhle Secondary School, and Mnambithi CMC were Dr Joseph Shabalala Ekukhuleni High School, all under UThukela District.
uThukela District officials made some presentations in front of the officials from the Department of Education. These presentations allowed the department to identify grey areas and challenges in order to provide necessary support.
Leading the team from the Head Office was DDG for Institutional Development Support, Weziwe Hadebe. Hadebe applauded the district for always ensuring that support is given to the schools.
“It is our view that the four schools that we have visited will do very well at the end of the year due to these visits as they are aimed to improve the level of performance of the district as a whole,” she said.
At the end of the visit, DDG Weziwe Hadebe interacted with the grade 12 learners and educators. In her address she advised learners to put more effort on their studies.
“Make time for your studies, as you prepare for your final exams, every day counts. Ensure that you respect your educators and your parents in order to prosper. I wish you all the best in your final year journey,” concluded DDG Hadebe
After uThukela District visit, DDG Hadebe indicated that the next district to be visited for support is Pinetown District.
