Cape Town is all set for hosting over 50 events beginning from Friday, Nov 28, 2025 till Sunday, Nov 30, 2025. The City of Cape Town aims to close November with a flurry weekend.
The Festive Lights Switch-On anticipates to attract around 80,000 crowd that will usher this season and is one of those many events that are taking place in Cape Town this coming weekend.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security – Alderman JP Smith said that the Events Permit Office with the Safety and Security Team of the City of Cape Town, SAPS and other event organisers will oversee the events by drawing nearly 160,000 attendees.
The City of Cape Town is proud to provide the financial support to some of the events occurring soon. They will also ensure to assist the safety and security of those in attendance, as always a priority.
According to Smith these events will continue to set a bumper upcoming summer season. This surge in events will create more jobs, millions of investments have been injected into the local economy, that will give boost to small businesses and will keep the tourism sector vibrant, thereby strengthening its reputation as a world-class events destination.
The bustling weekend of November 2025 of Cape Town events will kick off in Mitchells Plain on Friday evening with the Mitchells Plain Festival at the Westridge Gardens. The three-day festival will feature an exciting line-up of local artists, including YoungstaCPT, Ziggy, Craig Lucas, Paxton Fielies, Zoe Zana, Karin Kortje, Berry Trytsman, Von D and more.
Visitors can enjoy carnival rides, food stalls, and craft vendors at the 17th edition of the Mitchells Plain Festival. The festival runs until Sunday, Nov 30, 2025.
The Surf Expo Africa will be inaugurated at CTICC-2 with continent’s first all-ocean sports and beach lifestyle trade show. It will host 3000 passionate ocean sports enthusiasts and beachgoers from across the country.
The three-day festival of surf and lifestyle exhibition, workshops, talks and brand demonstrations will take place from Nov 28 to 30, 2025. On Saturday, Nov 29 over 1000 endurance athletes will brave the cold plunge in the Atlantic Ocean for the 9th edition of the Torpedo SwimRun.
The Torpedo SwimRun is an open water swimming and trail running extravaganza across the beaches of Cape Town and through its rugged mountain terrain, that will see the athletes traverse16km of water and land from Sandy Bay to Clifton.
