The Amajuba District Municipality is currently conducting a Strategic Planning Session, which began today at Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg.
As per Amajuba District Municipality, the main objective of the Strategic Planning Session is to focus on the District’s approach towards developing plans and programmes that are intended to speedily improve service delivery and adhere to the municipal mandate.
The Mayor of Amajuba District Municipality, Cllr. UMntwana Ndabuko Zulu commended the Acting Municipal Manager and Employees at all levels for their dedication to their work, given the challenges faced by the District, including financial constraints.
It is a three day strat session, and the inauguration of the session was done by the Amajuba District Municipality Manager, Mr M. P Manqele and facilitated by Mr S. Gwala from SALGA.
Personalities like Deputy Mayor Cllr L. Mthembu, Speaker or Council Cllr uMtwana S.O Zulu, local Mayors, Councillors, Amakhosi and municipal heads of departments ( HODs) were also present during the time of inauguration.
Furthermore, in attendance are external stakeholders such as the Auditor General, SALGA, uThukela water and COGTA. The Strat plan Session is anticipated to finish on the 29th of March 2023, and the session will also be utilized to review municipal policies and prioritize budget allocations.
Moreover, a Strategic Planning session is a powerful tool for any organization that is looking to clarify its goals, develop a roadmap for achieving those goals, and ensure that all team members are aligned and working towards a common purpose.
There are a lot of things that need to plan before planning of Strategic Planning session. The organization need to plan their expectations and then design the process. They may also want to establish a timeline for the planning session and any follow-up activities.
The company also need to identify the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
