Cape Town Triathlon is back and this time it is returning to ocean, land and urban park. The event will be observed on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in the Mother City.
Moreover, the City of Cape Town would like to advise the residents and spectators on the logistics for event day. The event is the third edition of the RSAWEB Cape Town Triathlon that will take place on the Atlantic Seaboard.
The Triathlon will consider a three-sport race that will take participants on a swim in Granger Bay, a cycle from the Grand Beach café to Bantry Bay and a run around the Green Point Urban Park.
As per the sources, the participants will take on a 1500m swim, 40km cycle and a 10km run for standard distance or a 750m swim, also 20km cycle and 5km run for sprint distance.
Considering this, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security – Alderman JP Smith said that they are excited to welcome the Cape Town Triathlon. It is back on our streets and coastline after a one-year hiatus.
There are not many events where participants are tested in the ocean, on land on a bicycle and on foot, all on the same day. The event will display the physical endurance of the athletes and will also serve as a wonderful showcase for the natural beauty of the Mother City. They are looking forward to host all the athletes in the beautiful city.
As a result of the race, several roads in the Green Point Precinct, Granger Bay, Mouille Point and Sea Point will get affected.
Cape Town Triathlon
The event is organised by the Electric Ink Media CC. According to Events Cape Town, each leg of the RSAWeb Cape Town Triathlon is like a postcard coming to life and is giving you breath-taking views of the Mother City that makes the race more of an unforgettable adventure.
During the event, athletes will dive into the Atlantic waters at Oceana boat club, Cycle along the picturesque beach road and Run through the Greenpoint Urban Park and will finish at the Reddam Field. The race will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will conclude at 1:00 p.m. on March 23, 2025 for which the entry cost begins from R850.
Cape Town is truly the most beautiful city in the world and RSAWEB Cape Town Triathlon is a race that is one of its own kind. Cape Town Triathlon is a part of the Cape Triathlon Series. In each series, the participant will receive a 30% discount for the three-event series.
