Gaborone City Council hosted a Mindset Shift workshop for the ward development council of the city

Botswana: Gaborone City Council hosted a Mindset Shift workshop for the ward development council of the city. The officials have shared that the project was implemented in collaboration with Young Minds Africa and Mosaic Intellectual.

The aim of the mindset change workshop was to develop, restructure and encourage participants to change their mindset in order to work smart. The members of the ward development council  attended the workshop in large number.

The officials have shared some images from the workshop which was hosted over the weekend with the city administration in attendance. Kgosi Segametsi Pule of Urban Customary Court welcomed the  participating members of the WDC.

In her welcome remarks, Kgosi Segametsi Pule thanked the stakeholders who helped in the successful implementation of the workshop. She further said that empowering the community starts with empowering the community leaders.

Accordingly, she added that this is a good initiative that will lead towards building an empowered community. The officials of the Gaborone City Council also extended their best wishes to the participants for success in the workshop.

Social & Community Development Committee Chairperson and Councilor for Government Ward Joyce Tumagole opened the Mindset Shift Workshop. She highlighted that this event is crucial for the development of the WDC’s.

She also applauded the efforts of both GCC and its partners for formulating an event of such calibre. She went on to encourage the WDC to capitalize on such events as they are very educating and result orientated.

Kago Timothy Mweemba and team from Young Minds Africa discussed the benefits of Mindset Change in order to produce positive relations around the workplace. They highlighted that change of mindset is key in producing positive work results and instilling a good work ethic in the workplace.

He encouraged the WDC to practice interpersonal skills in order to interact well with other stakeholders.

The WDC was also engaged in several activities to help facilitate the learning process and to also promote interpersonal skills to help them relate well amongst each other.

Other attendees were Ward Development Committees for Gaborone South and their Community Development Officers.
