Botswana: The Premier of Free State, Maqueen Letsoha Mathae visited the Taiwe Secondary School to visit the school management. The visit was planned after three students from the school were struck by lightning. The accident happened on Monday and claimed the life of one of the learners.
The officials have shared that it is the responsibility of the Administration to make sure that the families feel supported. The loss of the child bas left the family in a state of shock especially since the other children, who have survived are not in a good state.
The administration has claimed that the Department of Education was present during the Prmier’s visit.
The premier first visited the family of the student who has lost his life to this accident. The officials have shared that the members of the education department were resolute to support the grieving family.
The Premier of Free State paid her respects to the family and pledged to support them. She made several promises to the family of the deceased, during her visit to pay her respects.
The director of Education in the Lejwelepiutsa District confirmed that they would also be visiting the families of the children who were severely injured in the accident. The officials hav e shared that these children survived the accident and have since been receiving treatment.
The leaders have also confirmed that the family welcomed the gesture of the Premier and her team with appreciation. The Premier met with the members of the community who knew the boys and discussed the coping of their loss.
The Prime Minister said that he is looking forward to making sure that the family receives all the support from the province. Premier Maqueen Letsoha Mathae said that sh would log in all the supports that they have pledged to the family.
The members of the community have also come forward to mourn the loss of the child. They hoped that the family would be able to bear with the difficult time
